Now Briggs begins an extraordinary new series set in Mercy Thompson’s world—but with rules of its own.

INTRODUCING THE ALPHA AND OMEGA NOVELS...

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

What Customers Say About Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega, Book 1):

Charles is very understanding of many of her issues and doesnt push her to be or do anything that isnt her. She really has her work cut out for her to get comfortable with him. And she could not have asked for a better one. I started reading this book just to see where it would go, being as I really enjoy the Mercy Thompson stories. They really work well together to find a comfortable pattern and solve the issues at hand Anna is a very good character to get to know. What I found was this this series is just as entriging and delightful to read. A werewolf with a checkered past, who has intimacy issues and has just found her mate.

If you have not read her books yet I would recommend reading the Mercy Thompson series and the prequel to this book Alpha and Omega "On the Prowl" first. The Mercy Thompson series will help with some of the back ground that is slightly refered to in this book, but there is not enough reference to cause any confusion, but it is nice to see how these two series overlap. One of the best books written by Patricia Briggs. At the very Least "On the Prowl" will give the beginning to this book and lets you know how the two main characters meet. Either way the main characters in this book and Brigg's Mercy Thompson books are beyond my favorite characters and Briggs Keeps you entertained with her character development and story plots. I just can't get enough of her stories, and this one was no exception. I highly recommend this book and any of her other books.

This book digs deep into how life has been for Charles as he wonders if Anna can accept the violent side of his job. CRY WOLF by Patricia Briggs is a spin-off from her Mercy Thompson novels. My only regret is not knowing about the anthology titled ON THE PROWL, which gives the background on Charles and Anna, the major characters in this story.

After reading CRY WOLF, I plan to continue on. I loved it. I enjoyed the author's writing style, but having so many paranormal species was a bit too much for me. Don't get me wrong.

It's the showdown between the pack who kept Anna a prisoner and Charles, the enforcer who is also the son to the leader of the North American werewolves. Charles believes Anna to be a rare Omega wolf who could be the key to preventing the illness that has plague their kind, turning werewolves into crazed beasts.Originally, I didn't plan on continuing with the Mercy Thompson series. If I hadn't read MOON CALLED, book one of the Mercy Thompson series, there would have been more gabs in the story. As the enforcer, he has to take care of werewolves who have gone rogue.

He believes Anna is his mate, but she has been abused. I felt a bit lost at the beginning, like I missed something and I did. In CRY WOLF, Charles heals from his wounds.

As always the tidbits on pack interactions that Patricia adds make her books different and interesting. Having read all the available Mercy Thompson novels, I thought I would give this series a try. I found it fun, and engrossing.

Cry Wolf starts immediately following the events of a short story Alpha and Omega. She's a complex character, who has problems that don't just go away when her knight comes riding in. Characters that we only got a glimpse at in the Mercy books are fleshed out, and new characters are introduced. She may not be a badass like Mercy, but she's still tough enough to stand up on her own against all the big, bad wolves she lives with. When I decided to get this book instead of the fourth Mercy Thompson book, I was a little apprehensive.

There are no line breaks between sections. I can't wait to see where this series goes, and I've already bought the second book.(On a side note, and not that this affected my rating in any way, the formatting for the Kindle version of the book was pretty bad. However, she also has a side of her that's been hurt, and so she can be vulnerable and afraid, too. I really think that if you've read the Mercy series you should read this, or if you're a fan of paranormal romance, or if you're just looking for a great book to read. Instead, we get to dip into to everyone's head a little bit. There were so many good things about this book: Anna and Charles's relationship, learning about the powers of an Omega, learning more about werewolf culture, learning more about Bran. So, if you haven't read the short story, don't worry about it.One of the things that I really enjoyed in this book is the fact that we are not limited to one perspective. Charles also turned out to be a very interesting character, though he only gets little more than a passing mention in the Mercy books.

I wasn't sure if I would like the characters in this book as much as I like Mercy and the gang, but I was glad to be proven wrong. I think she's become one of my favorite characters ever. I know that this isn't the author's fault, but I think anyone considering purchasing this on their Kindles should know this). I didn't read the short story first, and while it does make the beginning a little confusing, it doesn't take away from the book as a whole. I think that it gave us a more comprehensive idea of what was going on, and also more insight into all of the characters.Speaking of characters, I really like Anna.
